MAY 18, 2025 TAHOE & TRUCKEE TRAIL REPORT
Featured Trail: Mount Hough

Mount Hough is a fabulous, flowing trail located near Quincy, California. Although it's a bit of a drive from Truckee, it's definitely worth the trip! This is a shuttle ride, so you can either contact Yuba Expeditions, arrange your own shuttle, or use e-bikes to get to the top. No matter how you choose to experience this ride, just go for it! I guarantee you'll be glad you made the effort.

Emmigrant Trail

The Emigrant Trail is a classic early-season route in Truckee. Recently, the trails have been tacky and smooth. Spring flowers have begun to bloom, and the woods have a delightful spring earthy pine fragrance. The trail remains captivating each year with its small creek crossings and ever-changing terrain.

Sawtooth Parking Lot Upgrade
The much-awaited paved parking area is currently under construction at the base of the Sawtooth trail. Although the trail system is OPEN for riding, you must park on the street and take the single track trail to reach the start of the trail network. The construction is expected to be completed by early June. This new pavement will enable year-round access to the 06 road, benefiting the community. Check out the newset trails in this zone: Sawyer, Stumpshot, and Dutchman. Lower Big Chief is also melting out pretty quickly.

Martis Valley Trail and The Thomkins Memorial Trail:
The Tompkins Memorial Trail offers a scenic and accessible mountain biking and hiking experience in the center of Martis Valley. It's free of snow, hosts a diverse range of bird species, and the creeks are flowing beautifully. This trail is conveniently located for an easy ride from our bike shop
