May 1, 2024: Truckee Tahoe Trail Report

May 1, 2024 TAHOE & TRUCKEE TRAIL REPORT

Its bike season! Time to get back out on your favorite trails

El Burro/ Donkeytown:

This local favorite is riding perfect right now! The road still has snow on it but the El Burro Trail is clear. This quick 3.5 mile lap willl get your blood pumping and help sharpen your skills as you navigate the flowy fun features of the trail. El Burro and Donkeytown are a prime example of superior trail engineering!

Emigrant trail:

The Emigrant trail is a perfect trail to get the biking season started. This rolling out and back trail takes you through meadows, winds through pine forests, and crosses several creeks. It offers firm tacky dirt, beautiful vistas and wildflowers just starting to bud. We love early riding on this trail to get warmed up for the season!

Martis Valley Trail and the Tompkins Memorial Trail:

The Tompkins Trail is a beautiful short and easy mountain bike or hiking trail in the heart of the Martis Valley. It is clear of snow, home to a large variety of birds, and the creeks are flowing beautifully.

Truckee River Legacy Trail:

The Truckee River legacy trail is a beautiful paved bike path that travels along the Truckee river for 6 miles to the quaint neighborhhod of Gleshire. This is a beautiful leisurely ride that is fun for the whole family!
