June 23, 2023: Truckee Tahoe Trail Report

June 23, 2023 TAHOE & TRUCKEE TRAIL REPORT Biking season may have come late this year but it is coming in strong! Along with exceptional trail conditions and weather patterns the wildlife that surronds our trails is thriving. Get out on a ride to witness our very own mini superbloom.

Emigrant Trail:

The Emigrant trail is officially clear and riding great! This trail, right off of highway 89, is a perfect place to go for a mellow ride through the Truckee wildlife. On this gentle trail you will be riding through Truckee's classic pine trees and large fields of mules ear and lupin. This is a very smooth trail without any harsh inclines or patches of loose dirt. Head to the Emigrant trail to check out one of the best local flower fields.

Prosser Creek Trail:

You can find this challenging technical ride right across from the Emigrant Trail on highway 89 going north. This trail runs along Prosser Creek up to Sagehen Peak with many viewpoints where you can stop to enjoy some snow covered peaks. The technicality and steepness of Prosser creek makes it a favorite for electric mountain biking. This trail is underused so prepare for a quiet ride but be aware of motorcycles on the narrow singletrack.

Donner Lake Rim Trail:

The Donner Lake Rim trail is now rideable all the way up to the Drifter hut. This ride offers a great view of Donner lake as you climb the back side of Tahoe Donner. The trail is tight, tacky and in perfect condition. About 6 miles in you will come across 4 to 5 snow patches that can be easily walked across and will allow you to continue another 4 miles up towards Donner summit.
